There is nothing more luxurious than sitting in your clean leather car seats. Like anything valuable, maintenance and care is required to keep the vehicle leather soft, supple and free from premature damage. Should you invest in professional vehicle upholstery care or is it okay to just do it yourself? Let's get the obvious out of the way: Professional upholstery care will cost more than doing it yourself. However, the cost of fixing a mistake with the leather treatment, like staining or marring it by incorrect methods could cost you more in the long run. The Professional Choice Professional leather care & upholstery products are very strong (which is why they are so effective, when used correctly). It needs to be applied in a certain manner with care and attention to detail. The result is visibly different when compared to home care. We don’t recommend any retail products readily available because they are often watered down (so they don't get sued) for any colour change or damage, and need to be used constantly, resulting in buying more product. You end up with a poor result and into a continual cycle of cleaning. We use trade-approved products and professional application methods in line with vehicle manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz, Bentley & others. This allows us to adhere to the highest quality industry standard and provide the confidence that there will be no marring or staining of our client's interior. If you have ever seen a vehicle you're interested in purchasing, you know it's very easy to get excited and buy it right away before someone else does (especially with the current pre-owned car climate). We know this sense of urgency is overwhelming, as no one likes that awful feeling of missing out on a car you had your eyes on, only to find out it has been sold. However, acting hastily in purchasing a pre-owned vehicle (even just a couple years old and from a reputable seller) without the necessary due diligence can result in large financial headaches & unexpected mechanical issues... it is for these reasons you need a Pre-Purchase Inspection! What is a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection)? A PPI is a way to check the car is what it says it is on the ad by means of a comprehensive vehicle inspection completed in person and report provided to you. The inspection covers all aspects of the vehicle inside and out to ensure you know everything that you need to know about the car, before you commit to buying. Is it worth spending $ on a PPI? Absolutely! Even if you’re somewhat knowledgeable about cars, it can be difficult to really know what you’re getting without a professional Pre-Purchase Inspection. Our advice to clients is to always invest in a PPI so that they can purchase the car of their dreams with confidence and not worry about spending more on vehicle repairs or being stuck with a lemon. With a PPI, there is no more guesswork and uncertainty because everything is documented and provided for you in order to make a sound decision for your purchase. The exercise is a very tiny percentage of the overall cost of the vehicle and the ROI is instant because you get: 1) Peace of mind with a full pass and the confidence to either proceed with the purchasing of your dream car. OR 2) Peace of mind knowing you don't need to proceed with an offer on a car that requires extensive mechanical or body work and is not as described. What we offer: - Dedicated Automotive Advisor to manage and book both parties (seller & inspector) on your behalf - Our experienced mechanic inspector sent on-site to either a private residence or dealership - Comprehensive report provided to you same day - Extensive photographs for your records sent via email or phone - Promptness and responsiveness so you don't loose time on purchasing the car & securing the deal - Our expert analysis and opinion on the vehicle for your consideration What our extensive PPI reports include: - Engine: Oil leaks, engine mounts, hoses, pipes, compression test if applicable - Transmission: Operation, clutch, gear shifting, oil leaks, etc. - Electrical System: Charging voltage, battery load test, power windows, fault scan, etc. - Air Conditioning: Operation, compressor, pipes etc. - Cooling System: Radiator, leaks, pressure test etc. - Exhaust System: Mufflers, exhaust manifold, leaks etc. - Steering & Suspension: Shocks, bearings, drive shafts, sway bars etc. - Brakes: Pads, rotors, hand brake, etc. - Tyres & Wheels: Condition and % tread remaining - Underbody: Sub frame, fuel tank, hoses etc. - Interior: Over 20 check points Inc. belts, carpet, trim, lights, sat nav etc. - Exterior: Bonnet and locks, windscreen, rubbers, lights etc. - Body Condition & Paintwork: Every panel Inc. roof - Road Test: Checking for engine performance, smoke, steering, braking etc. - Books & Service Check: Ensuring the car has been regularly serviced. With this unrelenting wet weather, we have seen an extraordinary increase in pot holes in our roads. According to the SMH, the council areas with the highest number of tyre callouts from pot holes were Blacktown, the Central Coast and the Northern Beaches. Hitting a pothole doesn't necessarily mean you'll puncture your tyres or damage your vehicle, but it is something that can often times be underestimated, causing unexpected expenses down the line. To avoid this, we recommend having your tyres inspected and contacting Auto Outsource for a comprehensive check to ensure your vehicle is ok. Here are some tips so you are better equipped the next time you hit a pot hole. Assess the tyre damage (if any): Sometimes you can get lucky. Other times, you just can't avoid the pot holes quick enough. Damage to look for: - Cuts to the tyre - Bubbles or blisters in the tyre wall - Damaged wheel rim What to do: Most cars now have run flats, meaning you can run it flat to the nearest tyre shop or even earlier - contact Auto Outsource to organise new tyres for your car and have them installed for you. As your personal vehicle advisors, our clients can call Auto Outsource for the best advice and assistance, so that we can direct you on what to do. Lately we have ordered a replacement tyre for our clients and have come out to them directly at their home, workshop or office on site to remove and replace. Things to do next: • Get a wheel alignment done. • Change Tyres. Don't just change one tyre with a different model. If you have to, as the bare minimum, change both front tyres to the same model so they match. This is important because different tyre treads and sizes can be very dangerous and the handling of the car will be compromised. • Repair any damaged wheel rim. Auto Outsource can alleviate the hassles out of Tyre Replacement and Pothole Damage Repair, by taking care of it all for you. Get in touch today! |
